It’s the season for the darkest nights of the year, which is great news for stargazers.
In our Starry Nights: Holy Nights program on Thursday, Dec. 10, you will discover how the starry phenomena of the sky’s darkest season are woven into lore from across different cultures and seasonal celebrations of light in December, especially through the festivals of Hanukkah and Christmas.
Star Lore Historian Mary Stewart Adams will describe the celestial movements and history and storytelling behind these traditions and link them to a contemplation of the new year ahead.
This workshop will be presented online using the Zoom platform, and advance registration is required.
One for the Foxes is an exciting and dynamic transatlantic trio that presents a rousing blend of Irish and American folk music, having already won over audiences on both sides of the ocean.

The Red Tie Auction is a part of The Red Tie Hour hosted by Annette and Jack Aronson. On Thursday, Nov. 19, The Red Tie Hour will be a one-hour, live, radio fundraising campaign that will close out the 104.3 WOMC Turn Up the Miracles Radiothon, supporting Beaumont Children’s. From 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, the Red Tie Hour will feature generous donors, matching gifts and special guests.
