Frederick Stearns House Historic Inn
located on 8109 east Jefferson Avenue, Detroit. Frederick Stearns House historic inn was a luxury boutique inn. The house is significant in that it was built for Frederick K. Stearns, son of the founder of a pharmaceutical firm that built the Frederick Stearns building, also located on Jefferson Avenue, and who served as its president from 1887 ti 1921. it is also significant because of its fine medieval and arts and crafts design.
From 2018 to 2022, the house had undergone extensive restoration and renovation. The house is known for its original painted glass widows and Moravian hearth oven and beautiful pewabic fireplaces. It offers luxury beddings with antique furniture and gourmet breakfast. The large dinning room, ballroom and speakeasy downstairs are available for events rentals. regular music and dance events are held in the speak easy and ballroom.
