We are so disappointed COVID-19 canceled our annual “last blast of summer” fundraiser this year. But we need to keep helping sick kids in hospitals in our community and across the country, so this year our annual fundraiser is going VIRTUAL with online Luxury “Buy Now” items and experiences and our Donate & Dine Package!

The “Donate & Dine Package” is priced at $150 and includes a $100 donation to Racing For Kids, as well as a $50 voucher good at the following restaurant partners:

EyesOn Design Autumn Drive

Pop-Up Drive: Watch or Join Sept 13.

Drivers, design enthusiasts and car-lovers are invited to join a pop-up event on Grandparent’s Day, Sept 13: the EyesOn Design Autumn Drive.

The with-regular-traffic Sunday drive along Lake St. Clair in Grosse Pointe is open for anyone to join from 2:00-4:00pm. Spectactors are encouraged to watch for the sight of beautiful cars between Provencal and the Ford House.

WANT YOUR CAR TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED?

Car owners can request one of 250 slots for admittance to the Ford House grounds, where their vehicle will be photographed in front of the historic Ford Estate, and photos will be available for purchase following the drive.

WANT TO SHOW YOUR CAR AT EYESON DESIGN 2021?

Cars on the Ford Grounds will be judged by a panel of designers from FCA, Ford, GM and Magna. The top two vote-getters will be invited to show their vehicle at the EyesOn Design Automotive Design Exhibition in 2021.

Starry Nights/Lavendar Moon at the Ford House

Star Lore Historian Mary Stewart Adams will lead us on a journey through a night of romance written in the stars. In Chinese tradition, the 7th Moon inaugurates the most romantic season of the year, which is August 18 in 2020. It is celebrated with the Qixi Festival, when every lover can chance upon their true love.

On this evening, the waxing Crescent Moon sweeps up from the western horizon after sunset toward the thickest region of Milky Way stars, where late-falling Perseids meteors bear wishes through the night, with Saturn and Jupiter look on from the east.

Exploring Stained Glass at the Ford House

Explore the beauty and artistry of stained glass with this virtual workshop that takes you from Ford House to an artisan’s workshop.

First, stained glass artist and preservation specialist Barbara Krueger will uncover the history of stained glass and offer tips on stained glass care. Kreuger will explore Ford House’s stained glass windows, including the coats of arms in the Gallery.

Then, the program will “Zoom” over to the Merry Go Round Stained Glass studio in Clinton Township. You will watch the artists there demonstrate two styles of stained glass creation
