Mobile Arts Workshop at The War Memorial
Join us for an afternoon of art and inspiration!
The Mobile Arts Workshop, a collaborative program from Wayne State University’s College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts will provide a one-day workshops for our local youth.
Participants learn about abstract art and basic design fundamentals through a variety of art making processes using reclaimed materials provided by the Mobile Arts workshop staff.
Paint the Windows: Things with Wings
Paint the Window will take place from 3-7 on Thursday August 18th (check-in begins at 2:30), with a theme that lets artists share their favorite “Things with Wings”Returning this year is the all-ages category. That’s right, now you don’t have to be a kid to paint the window! In addition to categories and prizes for students, there will also be a category for adults who wish to participate. Plus in addition to age group prizes, there will be a People’s Choice winner! Stay for the final Music on the Plaza concert or come back for the newly rebranded “Streetside Sale-ebration” (formerly known as the sidewalk sale) on Friday and Saturday August 19 & 20 and vote for your favorite window!

Not your ordinary sidewalk, the Streetside Sale-ebration is a weekend full of shopping at your favorite Village spots and MORE! This year Main Street Grosse Pointe has created a summer event sure to appeal to everyone!Held on a NEW date – Friday and Saturday, August 19-20 – Event is 10am-8pm Friday and 10am-6pm Saturday. In addition to Village retailers and restaurants hitting the streets along Kercheval between Cadieux and Neff, the event will also feature food trucks, vendors, music, games and activities for all ages!
