Star Lore Historian Mary Stewart Adams will lead us on a journey through a night of romance written in the stars. In Chinese tradition, the 7th Moon inaugurates the most romantic season of the year, which is August 18 in 2020. It is celebrated with the Qixi Festival, when every lover can chance upon their true love.
On this evening, the waxing Crescent Moon sweeps up from the western horizon after sunset toward the thickest region of Milky Way stars, where late-falling Perseids meteors bear wishes through the night, with Saturn and Jupiter look on from the east.
